Shroud application

Borets ESP systems can be equipped with a shroud. This assembly consists of a special intake module and a sub for connecting the extension pipe with the tubing of sizes 2.36 in.(60 mm) or 2.87 in.(73 mm).
The intake module located in the upper part of the shroud is specially designed. The sub for the extension pipe is connected with the lower part of the shroud. If the motor has several sections, the shroud is also sectional.
A centralizer is mounted to the lower part of the motor in a single-section shroud, in order to provide an equal clearance between the shroud and the motor housing along the full length of the shroud enabling additional cooling of the motor.

Advantages of the shroud application:

  • reducing the negative effect of associated gas
  • additional motor cooling by the flow of the pumped fluid
  • timesaving and reduction of costs for well development after downhole repair
  • increase of productivity.

FPB sand screens

FPB-85 sand screen is designed for the protection of ESP and PCP of group 5 and 5A producing 500 m3/day. Sand screens are available in the executions: mounted on the lower part of motor (FPBN-85 sand screen ) and mounted on the lower part of motor shroud (FPBK-85 sand screen). FPBN-85 sand screen includes FNT screen-filling, relief valve with central pipe and and disconnector with central pipe. FPBK-85 sand screen has different design of mounting to shroud and no disconnector.

Its design has advantages as follows:

  • high reliability since it does not have rotating elements and friction pairs that eliminates possible jamming
  • possibility to mount sand screen lower than motor that protects screen from damage during pull in operation
  • possibility to complete with ESP of all types
  • prevents disconnector from damage during pull in/out operations.
The screen is available in modifications: 1FPB-85 and 2FPB-85.

 X Modifications:
- no figure is basic design
1 - modification 1FPB-85
2 - modification 2FPB-85
FPB Sand screen of Borets manufacture  X Designed for mounting:
N - on motor
K - on shroud
XXX Pump production, m3/day  XX Diameter of screen filling, mm  V Width of hole in screen filling, mcm  Dup Diameter of seal, mm

Example of coding for pump design type:
FPBN-500-85–V-Dup - if mounted on motor; FPBK-500-85–V - if mounted on motor shroud.
Where:
FPB – sand screen of Borets manufacture; Execution N – designed for mounting on motor; Execution K – designed for mounting on shroud; 500 – pump production, m3/day; 85 – diameter of screen filling, mm; Â – width of hole in screen filling, mcm; Dup– diameter of seal, mm.

Additional advantages of the screen:

  • central tube prevents accumulation of sand inside the screen and extends well runlife;
  • partial screen loading activates relief valve that ensures continued pump operation and protects motor and cable from overheating (relief valve activates at pressure differential 0,05MPa)

Additional advantages of the screen: extends well runlife due to the sand trap mounted under the screen

Additional advantages of the screen:

  • central tube prevents from sand accumulation inside the screen and extends well runlife;
  • due to the sand trap mounted under the screen

SMGB hydrocyclone separator of solids

SMGB hydrocyclone separator of solids is mounted on motor (SMGB-N) or on shroud of motor (SMGB-K) and designed for the protection of ESP operating elements in sandy wells (concentration of solids up to 5 g/l) and in wells after the hydraulic fracturing of formation (concentration of solids more than 5 g/l).

SMGB-N separator is made up of the following parts: sludge trap, check valve and relief valve. Separator is designed for cleansing fluid from solids.
Check valve is designed to direct flow of fluid bypassing sludge trap when it is full in order to avoid shutdown of pump and to relieve driving fluid to the annulus during well flushing.
Relief valve relieves accumulated gas to the annulus.

SNGB-K separator is made up of the following: sludge trap, check valve and segregator. It is designed to reduce free gas content at pump intake.

SMGB design has the following advantages:

  • simple design
  • enhanced reliability
  • effective (up to 95%) separation of solids.

Application of this separator considerably extends ESP runlife due to lower wear of its operating elements.

Valves

Flushing valves

KPTB-73 flushing valve supplied by Borets

KPBN-73 flushing valve supplied by Borets
Ensures flushing of tubing located above flushing valve

The flushing valve ensures:

  • flooding of tubing during pull in of submersible system
  • flushing of PCP at reverce rotetion
  • flushing of tubing located above flushing valve

Relief valve
Function:
  • ensures flooding of tubing during pull in of submersible pump
  • to complete progressing cavity pump.
